Job summary

Smile Starters Dental in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Dental Assistant II for a part‑time role on Wednesdays, 6am–3pm, at the Charlotte Freedom Drive location. You will support pre‑appointment setup, chairside prep, and post‑case tasks in a fast‑paced pediatric practice.

Candidates should have graduation from an accredited dental assistant program, CPR, coronal polishing certification, and knowledge of sterilization. Nitrous oxide certification is a plus, and bilingual abilities are valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited dental assistant program.
• CPR Certification.
• Coronal Polishing Certification.
• Nitrous Oxide (N2O) Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pre-appointment setup: set up back and front tables, log into computer systems, save X-rays, adjust and set up dental chair, light, chairs, table, rheostat.
• Chairside prep: glove and gown up, suction throat, place throat pack, coronal polish.
• Between cases: delete X-rays from computer, pull up X-rays for next OR case.
• Immediately after TP out: call out on overhead, record TP out time on dry‑erase board and in charts, pull up next patient’s chart, begin cleaning and breaking down room.
• During downtime: restock cart, gather supplies for next procedure, put away sterilized instruments, take cart inventory.
• Maintain a proactive approach to workflow and patient care.
