Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and families to the office with professionalism.
  • Conduct pre­- and post­-operative patient consultations.
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring comfort.
  • Assist the dentist chairside using 4­-handed dentistry.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well­-stocked operatory.

Smile Starters is a general dental practice serving children and young adults ages 1 through 20. We are dedicated to educating our patients on best practices for optimal oral health between visits. Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and families to the office with professionalism and warmth
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑operative patient consultations
  • Prepare patients for treatments or checkups, ensuring comfort
  • Select, prepare, and arrange instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulatory standards
  • Assist the dentist chairside using 4‑handed dentistry
  • Perform lab‑related tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post‑operative care instructions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked operatory
  • Schedule appointments and assist with payment procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Support the dental team with other duties as assigned
Skills & Attributes
  • Proven experience as a dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks (e.g., coronal polishing) is a plus
  • Strong computer skills for scheduling and record‑keeping
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and reliable
  • Thrives in a busy, active work environment
  • Additional certifications or training are an asset
  • Bilingual abilities a plus
