Job summary

Smile Starters Dental in Asheville, NC is hiring a Dental Assistant (DA I/DA II) for a full-time role. The position supports a busy, patient-centered practice with a warm, team-focused atmosphere.

Expect to work Monday–Friday with no nights or weekends and a competitive hourly pay rate based on experience and certifications. The ideal candidate will hold a DA school certification, NC Radiology Certification (or be willing to obtain), and preferably DA II status.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and DA school certification.
• NC Dental Radiology Certification or willingness to obtain quickly.
• DA II status is preferred, but mentoring for DA I is possible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain infection control.
• Assist chairside during restorative, crown/bridge, and exams.
• Take and process diagnostic X-rays.
• Greet patients and manage charting for smooth daily flow.
• Collaborate with dentist and front desk for a 5-star experience.

Pay Rate: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on years of experience and DA II certifications)

• Assist chairside during a variety of procedures (restorative, crown/bridge, exams).
• Take and process clear diagnostic X-rays.
• Welcome patients with a warm smile, manage charting, and ensure a smooth daily flow.
• Partner with our wonderful dentist and front desk to give every patient a 5-star experience.
