Job summary

Antioch Dentistry in Merriam, KS is seeking a Dental Assistant to learn basic chairside functions under the direct supervision of the licensed dentist. You will participate in the Perfect Patient Experience and support infection control, charting, and patient communication.

No prior dental experience is required; training covers radiography, chairside prep, and regulatory compliance, with benefits and CE opportunities available.

Qualifications

• No prior dental experience is required.
• Customer services experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions under direct supervision of the licensed dentist.
• Actively participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment and attending to their needs.
• Learn infection control procedures for sterilization and operatory cleaning and disinfection to ensure safety.
• Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures after radiation safety requirements.
• Prepare for patient care procedures and hand off to front desk for follow-up visit appointments.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
• Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital chart as directed by the dentist.
• Support patient care by presenting treatment records, consents and health history to the dentist before treatment.
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.).
