Charter College in Oxnard, CA is seeking a Dental Assistant Instructor to join our team on the Oxnard campus. The position supports day or evening classes in our Dental Assistant program, with a blended learning environment combining hands-on lab work and online activities.

The ideal candidate has current Dental Assisting certification, RDA, and at least two years of professional experience. The role is part-time, offers hourly compensation of $25.00 to $28.00, and requires commitment to student

Qualifications

• Current certification in Dental Assisting.
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in dental assisting.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience teaching in a blended learning environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to provide hands-on instruction in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for each course and develop a syllabus consistent with course descriptions and curriculum requirements.
• Provide engaging classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.
• Emphasize the importance of professionalism and appropriate workplace conduct.
• Assess student understanding throughout the course and provide additional instruction when needed.
• Maintain academic and instructional standards.
• Regularly evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Be available to students who need additional assistance or have academic concerns.
• Support student retention and engagement efforts.
• Review and respond to student evaluations of instruction.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and official college functions as required.
• Maintain professional knowledge and expertise through continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain required academic and professional documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
