Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant II to join our Village Commons location. You will greet patients, gather health histories, and assist dentists with a wide range of procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Proficiency with Dentrix and adherence to HIPAA are essential. The role offers front-loaded training and a pathway to grow within a national network that supports more than 3,000 doctors across numerous offices.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required by state.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and educate throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during procedures.
• Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols per OSHA & CDC guidance.
• Manage supplies and inventory; place and expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
