Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz, College of Nursing, is seeking a Dental Assistant I or II (open rank) for a full-time position at Sheridan Health Services in southwest Denver, CO. The role supports a Federally Qualified Health Center, performing clinical and administrative duties across dental care and patient management.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited program or one year experience substitution; bilingual communication, radiography and sterilization skills,

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited dental assistant training program.
• Substitution: One year of dental assistant experience may substitute for completion of an accredited program.
• One year of experience as a dental assistant (for II level).
• Preferred: bilingual in additional languages beyond English (e.g., Spanish or others).
• Experience with bloodborne pathogens and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients in the dental operatories.
• Records vitals and basic measurements as indicated.
• Assists dentists, hygienists, and other team members with patient prep and treatment setup.
• Performs intraoral and extraoral radiographs and images; transfers to patient chart.
• Maintains dental inventory and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Performs routine administrative duties (EHR input, scheduling, billing, deposits).
• Communicates effectively with team and patients.
