Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team in an office in Canby, Oregon. You will greet patients, review health histories, and assist clinicians with a variety of procedures while maintaining strict safety protocols.

Ideal candidates will have dental assisting certification (and x-ray certification where required) and strong communication and organizational skills. You will use Dentrix for scheduling and maintain a clean, compliant workspace with a focus on patient care.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Access to minimum PHI with HIPAA training and data safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, maintaining comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history to ensure quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and other diagnostics (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists per state dental practice act.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols per OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supplies/inventory and place/expedite orders as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
