Job summary

The role supports dentists, maintains patient confidentiality, and follows infection-control protocols. Applicants should complete an accredited Dental Assistant program or have six months of hands-on experience, with at least one year of dental assisting preferred; valid MD licenses/certifications and required credentials

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or six months hands-on experience.
• Minimum of one year of Dental Assisting experience.
• Nitrous oxide certification and Coronal polishing certification.
• Current MD license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of PSV from the licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations).

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures.
• Assist the dentist by sterilizing instruments, suctioning, and passing instruments.
• Prepare and handle dental materials and supplies.
• Perform dental X-rays and assist with study casts.
• Fabricate temporary restorations and clean removable appliances.
• Assist with dental and medical emergencies; maintain CPR and emergency supplies.
• Provide oral hygiene and post-operative instructions.
• Document dental care and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and sanitation protocols.
• Maintain professional knowledge and complete required training.
