Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Radiography certification is required.
• Dental assistant certification required by state, or ability to obtain.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Nitrous oxide/oxygen analgesia certification preferred.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA and infection-control training must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with excellent chair-side manner, making the patient the top priority.
• Be present, engaged and ready to work at all assigned shift times.
• Take direction from the doctor and hygienist, assist with procedures and anticipate needs.
• Take, develop and mount radiographs of high quality.
• Review patient charts, log data and transcribe notes prior to doctor arrival.
• Prepare and sterilize equipment and operatory according to procedures.
• Maintain schedule and patient flow with efficient procedures.
• Educate patients and address questions or concerns.
• Demonstrate teamwork to deliver an outstanding patient experience.
• Collaborate with doctors, hygienists, and staff to sustain service and integrity.
• Assist front office with scheduling follow-ups and tracking lab cases.
• Monitor dental supplies and order using approved formulary when instructed.
• Promote Sonrava services and retail products.
• Complete checklists and participate in daily huddles for smooth operation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and follow safety policies.
