Job summary

The Smilist Dental in Blackwood, NJ is seeking a reliable Dental Assistant to join our friendly team. This part-time role offers 30 hours per week, with pay for 36 hours, and opportunities for growth and continuing education.

You will support doctors, maintain a clean and sterile operatory, prepare trays, and assist with procedures. Active NJ x-ray license is required; Dentrix experience is a plus. Competitive benefits included.

• RDA a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors during procedures and keep patients comfortable.
• Prepare trays, maintain sterile environment, and stock operatorys.
• Escort patients to front desk and facilitate flow of the schedule.
• Ensure cleanliness and proper infection control throughout the clinic.
• Support management with other duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing practice and contribute to our mission of excellent dental care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keep patients focused on optimal treatment while attending their individual concerns and promoting the good qualities of their doctor
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patient feels comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors - thereby enabling them to provide efficient quality dental treatment
• Escort patients to and from the front desk
• Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, ordering and replenishing as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant - at least 1 year
• Must have an active NJ x-ray license
• RDA a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
• Prior Dentrix experience preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude

Position Details:

• Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 7am-7:30pm and rotating Friday/Saturdays 7:30am-2pm
• Salary Range: $22.00-$27.00/hour (based on licensure)
