Job description

Dental Care of South Elgin is looking for a Temporary Dental Assistant to join our team.

June to September timeframe with a potential to go Full Time.

Schedule:

  • Tues: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Wed: 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Thu: 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Fri: 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

More about the role
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
  • Review patient health history for quality care.
  • Take and process x-rays and other assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
  • Assist dentists chairside during procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
  • Use Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
  • Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols and OSHA & CDC guidelines.
  • Manage supply inventory and place orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement systems and optimize workflow.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • Dental assistant and/or x-ray certification if required by state law.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to protect patient information and complete HIPAA training.
Preferred Experience
  • Over 1 year of experience in a dental setting.
  • Experience with Dentrix or similar software.
  • Dental assisting certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodations.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Availability for periodic training sessions.
  • TB test required prior to employment, arranged during pre-employment.
