Responsibilities

1. The primary role of Dental Assistants (DAs) is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment with urgency.
2. Participate in providing a positive patient experience by focusing on optimal treatment and addressing individual needs and concerns.
3. Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to ensure efficient, quality care.
4. Assist with taking high-quality X-rays (2D and 3D) and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
5. Educate patients on postoperative and general oral health care under the supervision of the dentist.
6. Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories following ADA guidelines.
7. Comply with all applicable regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, and state and federal safety standards.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED; DA training courses preferred but not required.
2. Associate degree or a one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
