Position Summary

We are seeking a Dental Assistant - Prosth. The Prosthodontist Dental Assistant works under a dentist’s supervision to prepare equipment, ready patients for procedures, and assist during procedures by passing instruments, holding suction, and anticipating the dentist’s needs. Responsibilities may include removing sutures, processing x-rays, and taking oral impressions for crowns.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the Prosthodontist.
• Assist with patient care, office, and laboratory duties, including chair-side assistance.
• Ensure patient comfort, prepare them for treatment, and manage dental records.
• Hand instruments and materials to dentists, keep patients’ mouths dry and clear.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, prepare trays, and instruct on oral health care.
• Handle impressions and restorations, take and process dental x-rays.
• Assist with radiological procedures as directed.
• Perform office duties: scheduling, patient reception, record keeping, billing, and supply management.
• Support specialty areas such as oral surgery, periodontics, prosthodontics, and implantology.
• Support hygienists and manage inventory of prosthetic supplies.
• Assist with radiographic needs of other staff.

Working Conditions

• Work in a well-lit, clean environment near dental chairs.
• Wear protective gear to prevent infection.
• Follow safety procedures for x-ray use.

Experience

• Certified Dental Assistant by the A.D.A.
• Two years of experience, implant experience preferred.
• Reliable, team-oriented, good manual dexterity.
• Current CPR certification.

Physical Requirements

• Work at desks and move around the office daily.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods.
• Perform precise movements, reach, bend, and coordinate limbs effectively.
