Our Peoria office is looking for dedicated candidates to join their team as Dental Assistants! We provide on-the-job training, so certification is not required to be hired as a DA.

Job Purpose
To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental’s culture and mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and escort patients in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.
- Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.
- Take and record patient’s medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.
- Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist’s instructions and legal requirements.
- Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.
- Provide dental education and information to patients to ensure awareness of dental health, oral hygiene strategies, and nutritional counseling.
- Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or safety concerns.
- Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and office meetings.
- Recognize and be sensitive to patients’ emotions.
- Follow company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws related to dental practice.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications/Skill Sets
- Exceptional customer/patient service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software (Denticon preferred).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; BLS, CPR, and radiography certificates.
- Dental assisting experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in healthcare or related fields strongly preferred.

Availability / Schedule
Working hours are between M-F, 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
- 4+ days a week, 30-40 hours per week.
- Availability to work on Saturdays.
- Full shifts (8-10 hours).
