Job summary

Plaza Dental in Parker, CO is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant / Treatment Care Coordinator. This hybrid role combines clinical chairside support with administrative duties to ensure a smooth patient journey from greeting to post-treatment follow-up.

You’ll assist the doctor during procedures, present treatment plans, discuss financial options, schedule care, and educate patients. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential for delivering exceptional service every day.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience.
  • Current X-ray certification or ability to obtain per state requirements.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Experience presenting treatment plans or coordinating patient care is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of dental procedures and patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist chairside during procedures and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and operatories per infection control/OSHA.
  • Take digital radiographs and intraoral images as directed.
  • Record and update patient medical histories and treatment notes.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative instructions.
  • Present treatment plans and discuss financial options with patients.
  • Coordinate treatment scheduling and guide patients through care plans.
  • Maintain operatory cleanliness and inventory of supplies.
  • Collaborate with doctor and front office for efficient patient flow.
  • Provide front office support when needed (phones, appointments).

Position Overview

Plaza Dental is seeking a skilled and dependable Dental Assistant / Treatment Care Coordinator to join our team. This hybrid role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys both clinical and administrative responsibilities. You'll assist the doctor during procedures, help create a comfortable patient experience, present treatment plans, discuss financial options, coordinate scheduling, and guide patients through every step of their care. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, confident in communicating with patients, and committed to delivering exceptional service while working collaboratively with our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures while ensuring a comfortable and positive patient experience.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and operatories in accordance with infection control and OSHA protocols.
  • Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images as directed.
  • Accurately record and update patient medical histories, treatment notes, and clinical documentation.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, treatment recommendations, and post-operative instructions.
  • Present treatment plans, review financial options, and help patients understand the value of recommended care.
  • Coordinate treatment scheduling and assist patients in moving forward with their care plans.
  • Maintain operatory cleanliness, organization, and inventory of clinical supplies.
  • Collaborate closely with the doctor and front office team to ensure efficient patient flow and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Provide front office support as needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and communicating with patients.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience required.
  • Current X-ray certification (or ability to obtain in accordance with state requirements).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Previous experience presenting treatment plans, discussing financial options, or coordinating patient care is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dental procedures, terminology, and patient education.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable discussing treatment recommendations and helping patients move forward with their care.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with dental practice management software and basic computer applications.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
