An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to provide essential support in oral surgical procedures. This role involves assisting dental residents and students, administering IV sedation, and ensuring patient safety during surgeries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chairside assisting, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage patient files effectively. Provide oral surgical assistance to dental residents and students. Assist in the administration of IV sedation and patient monitoring during surgical procedures. Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; ensure safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials. Maintain patient files and charts. Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier. May assist with training and reviewing work of student and/or casual employees.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education:Certification as a Dental Assistant or AAOMS DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) Certificate.
Required Experience:Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program and oral surgery experience OR 1-2 years of related experience including oral surgery experience with IV sedation/general anesthesia.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of chairside assisting for oral surgical procedures. Knowledge of oral surgical instrumentation. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of a foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Korean, Chinese).
