Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

Provide oral surgical assistance to dental residents and students. Assist in the administration of IV sedation and patient monitoring during surgical procedures. Perform tests; assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures; ensure safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials. Maintain patient files and charts. Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier. May assist with training and reviewing work of student and/or casual employees.

Qualifications

Required Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

Certification as a Dental Assistant or AAOMS DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination) Certificate.

Required Experience:

Graduate of a Dental Assistant Training Program and oral surgery experience OR 1-2 years of related experience including oral surgery experience with IV sedation/general anesthesia.
