A leading dental practice in New York is seeking an experienced Chairside Dental Assistant to provide expert support for a range of dental procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, along with a commitment to patient care. Responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, managing treatment room preparation, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Expert chairside assistance for a wide range of general and advanced dental procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort.
Mentor and train junior dental assistants, sharing best practices in infection control, chairside techniques, and patient care.
Oversee treatment room preparation, ensuring sterilized instruments, proper setup, and seamless procedure execution.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive practices.
Support complex procedures such as root canals, extractions, crowns, bridges, and implant placements.
Manage and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with sterilization and safety protocols.
Coordinate with the front office team to optimize patient scheduling and treatment flow.
Ensure strict compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols.
Take and process high-quality digital dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and adherence to safety standards.
3+ years of experience as a Chairside Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent credentials from an accredited program.
Proficiency in four-handed dentistry and advanced chairside techniques.
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials, including implant and surgical procedures.
Expertise in taking and processing digital X-rays.
Leadership skills with experience mentoring and training junior assistants.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage high-volume patient flow across multiple locations.
Excellent communication skills and a patient-first approach.
Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend (a plus!).
