Job summary

Family Dentistry of Neosho is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to join our dental team. You will support the dentist clinically and administratively, creating a smooth, patient-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will hold CDA or RDA certification, with EFDA or radiology certifications a plus. Proficiency in dental instruments, sterilization, and practice management software is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • CDA or RDA certification required.
  • EFDA or Radiology certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of instruments, sterilization, and infection control procedures.
  • Experience with practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for treatment and check-ups.
  • Set up instruments and assist dentist with procedures, including four-handed dentistry.
  • Ensure sterilization and safety protocols are followed for all instruments.
  • Assist with lab tasks and post-operative patient instructions.

Pay

$20-$25/hour

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental team. As an essential part of our practice, you will play a key role in creating a smooth and comfortable environment for our patients, ensuring high-quality care while supporting the dentist in both clinical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures. Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well-prepared for each procedure.
  • Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure that all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
  • Lab Tasks & Post-Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post-operative care instructions.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, assisting with patient charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
  • Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and ensuring the office runs smoothly with minimal disruptions. Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Regulated Tasks: Perform non-surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Certification: Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) is required. Additional certifications such as EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) or Radiology Certifications are a plus.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
    • Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
    • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
    • Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly preferred.
  • Clinical Competence: Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
  • Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Certifications: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus but not required.
