Job summary

Family Dentistry of Neosho is seeking a motivated Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will support the dentist in clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care.

The role requires a CDA or RDA certification and knowledge of instruments, sterilization, and practice management software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft). Strong communication and attention to detail are essential, with a Monday-Wednesday 7am-4:30pm schedule and Thursday 7am-2pm pay range

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
  • Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
  • Experience with dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing concerns.
  • Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials for dental procedures; assist through 4-handed dentistry.
  • Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow sterilization procedures and ensure instruments are sanitized per health regulations.
  • Lab Tasks & Post-Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks and provide post-operative care instructions.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain patient records, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
  • Scheduling & Office Support: Help schedule appointments and keep the office running smoothly.

Job Title: Dental Assistant

Location: Family Dentistry of Neosho

Schedule: Monday through Wednesday from 7am to 4:30pm | Thursday from 7am to 2:00pm

Pay: $20-$25/hour

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental team. As an essential part of our practice, you will play a key role in creating a smooth and comfortable environment for our patients, ensuring high-quality care while supporting the dentist in both clinical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Assist with Procedures : Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures. Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well-prepared for each procedure.
  • Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure that all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
  • Lab Tasks & Post-Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post-operative care instructions.
  • Record Maintenance : Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, assisting with patient charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
  • Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling patient appointments and ensuring the office runs smoothly with minimal disruptions. Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Regulated Tasks : Perform non-surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Certification : Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) is required. Additional certifications such as EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) or Radiology Certifications are a plus.
  • Skills & Knowledge: * In-depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols. * Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments. * Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office. * Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly preferred.
  • Clinical Competence : Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
  • Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-Oriented : Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high‑quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional Certifications : Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
