Job summary

Blue Valley Smiles is hiring a Dental Assistant to join our busy, patient‑focused practice in Overland Park, KS. You will work chairside, prepare and sterilize instruments, take digital radiographs, and support front desk tasks while delivering high‑quality patient care.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience, X‑ray certification, and current CPR/BLS certification. EFDA certification is a plus, and a positive, team‑oriented attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience.
• X-ray certification (per state requirements).
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• EFDA certification preferred (if applicable).
• Strong clinical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories per infection control protocols.
• Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images.
• Record and update patient medical histories and clinical notes accurately.
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
