Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources seeks a Dental Assistant to support Offutt Air Force Base, Offutt, Nebraska. The role requires CODA-accredited education or equivalent military/Red Cross credentials, radiography certification, and BLS, with preferred 1 year of recent dental experience.

Responsibilities include chair-side assistance, patient records, sterilization, and radiography, using Dentrix/MHS Genesis for scheduling and workload entry. Full-time hours, benefits offered.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen is required.
• Education: CODA-accredited dental assistant program or equivalent military/Red Cross certification.
• 1 year of experience within the preceding 36 months.
• Certified in Radiography.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist in complex/difficult restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, or periodontal treatments.
• Record medical histories and treatment information; prepare and maintain patient charts and prescriptions.
• Sterilize instruments and equipment; prepare surgical trays and maintain dental equipment.

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting potential opportunity for a Dental Assistant to support Offutt Air Force Base, in Offutt, Nebraska.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen
• Degree/Education: Certificate or associate degree as a dental assistant from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA). OR Certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school. Certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course.
• Experience: 1 year with in the preceeding 36 months
• Certified in Radiography
• BLS through American Heart Association

Duties To Include But Not Limited To

• Performs duties in providing assistance in one or more phases of complex/difficult restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, or periodontal treatment. Receives and schedules patients for treatment.
• Obtains and records related medical history of patient. Charts examination and treatment information. Records information on prescriptions.
• Sterilizes instruments, materials, and equipment; prepares surgical trays. Maintains dental equipment in a clean and operative condition.
• Assists dentist at chair side. Performs intra-oral procedures as directed by dentist. Takes preliminary impressions for study models, removes sutures, places and removes rubber dams, perio-packs, matrix bands, and wedges.
• Relays dentist’s instructions to patient for post-treatment care. Instructs patient in proper dental techniques, care of appliances, and causes of dental decay.
• Operates dental X-ray equipment to take intra and extra oral radiographs. Maintains, cleans, and performs minor repairs on X-ray equipment and materials.
• Pours and trims models from impressions and constructs custom impression trays. Maintains a variety of recurring reports related to dental activities.
• Patient Workload, Readiness, and Scheduling. Utilizes Dentrix/MHS Genesis to enter patient specific workload and readiness status and also for patient scheduling.
