ForwardDental Forest Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team.
Pay Range: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour
Experience Requested: 2 to 3 years
Dental Software: Dentrix
Practice Hours: Monday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Tuesday–Thursday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM; Friday: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of Dental Assistant experience and general computer knowledge. Experience using Dentrix is preferred.

- Manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced dental office
- Anticipate the next steps in patient care and office flow after completing initial training
- Remain dependable and flexible when patient care extends beyond normal office hours
More About The Role
- Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
- Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care
- Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
- Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
- Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations
- Manage supply and inventory levels, and place and expedite orders as needed
- Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment
- Required certifications: dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification, if required by state law
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Will receive regular HIPAA training and must protect PHI and maintain data safeguards
Preferred Experience
- 1+ years of experience in a dental setting
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental software
- Dental assisting school certification
Physical Requirements
- Perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year
- Completion of a tuberculosis (TB) test for all new hires in dental office positions unless exempt by state
