Dental Assistant

Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Compensation: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour

Experience Required: Minimum of 2–3 years of general dentistry experience required. Candidates with specialty experience are also welcome to apply.

About the Role: We are looking for a dependable, team‑oriented Dental Assistant who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a fast‑paced dental environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong clinical support skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to help create a smooth and welcoming patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the doctor chairside during dental procedures
  • Preparing treatment rooms and sterilizing instruments
  • Taking digital x‑rays and impressions
  • Supporting patient flow and maintaining accurate clinical records
  • Providing excellent patient care and communication
  • Assisting with general dentistry procedures and other clinical duties as needed

More About the Role
  • Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, and sustain patient comfort and provide appropriate education throughout treatment
  • Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history in order to provide quality care
  • Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
  • Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with state dental practice act
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
  • Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced and customer‑centric environment
  • Required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job‑related functions; regular HIPAA training required
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a dental setting
  • Dentrix or other dental software experience
  • Dental assisting school certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)
