Northern Virginia Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Manassas, Virginia is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support our clinical team with patient care, room prep, instrument sterilization, and radiographic procedures.

The ideal candidate has a one-year certified dental assistant program (preferred), X-ray certification (required), a high school diploma or equivalent, and a commitment to OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection-control training. We offer competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program (preferred).
• 1 year on-the-job experience.
• X-Ray certification - Required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
