Valley Dental Associates in Owings Mills, MD is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team in a modern, patient-centered practice. You will prepare rooms, sterilize tools, and assist dentists during procedures, while educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

The role requires X-ray certification and completion of a one-year dental assistant program, with on-the-job experience preferred. A CPR and OSHA training focus is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 1 year on-the-job experience.
• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant - Required.
• X-Ray certification - Required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies when needed.
