Northern Virginia Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Annandale, VA is seeking a Dental Assistant to join a team-focused clinical group. You will support the office and dental staff with treatment, patient education, and efficient operation of the practice.

The role requires prior dental assisting experience and offers competitive pay, full-time hours (Mon–Fri), and benefits including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• X-Ray certification required.
• Nitrous oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient care: welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & diagnostics: take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & safety: ensure infection control, protect patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain patient records and scheduling/documentation, including intake when needed.
• Assist in emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.

As a Dental Assistant you are an integral part of care team in providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment. Responsibilities

• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

• X-Ray certification - Required
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
• High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
