Job summary

CHOICE Healthcare Services is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials, and by passing instruments during procedures in compliance with New Mexico standards.

The role includes taking x-rays, IOs, and assisting with prophylaxis; you will educate patients on oral hygiene and help chart treatments with the dentist. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification from a dental college or 3–6 months related experience or training.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• X-Ray NM certification with license number and BLS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures.
• Takes x-rays.
• Takes IOs.
• Assists in prophylaxis cleaning of teeth.
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene.
• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor.
• Sterilizes instruments.
• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctor in procedures


• Takes x-rays


• Takes IO's


• Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth


• Instructs patients on oral hygiene


• Charts cavities and teeth with doctor


• Sterilizes instruments


• Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene


• Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

• Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred


• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

Required Certificates or Licenses:

• X-Ray New Mexico certification with license number


• BLS certification

Preferred Certificates or Licenses:

• Topical Fluoride New Mexico Certification


• Sealant New Mexico Certification


• Coronal Polish New Mexico Certification with License number
