Job summary

Drs. Grant & Conger in Dalton, GA is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team and deliver high-quality patient care in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Candidates must have on-the-job experience and hold a Registered Dental Assistant credential plus X-ray certification; Nitrous Oxide certification is preferred, and ongoing OSHA/HIPAA/CPR training is expected. The position offers a Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule with competitive benefits and a modern office.

Qualifications

• One or more years on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation).
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is required.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
