Job summary

Greenstein Dental in Clinton, Maryland, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support clinicians, prep rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist with procedures. You will welcome patients, educate on oral hygiene, and help manage patient records and scheduling in a patient-centered environment.

The role requires a completed dental assistant program, with preference for expanded functions, X-ray, and nitrous oxide certifications.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• 2 years on-the-job experience is desirable.
• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant is preferred.
• X-Ray certification and Nitrous Oxide certification are highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Help dentist manage emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency directory.
