Job summary

Northern Virginia Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Manassas, VA seeks a Dental Assistant to support clinicians and deliver high-quality patient care in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, taking and developing X-rays, assisting during procedures, and educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care. Prior dental assisting experience required; sign-on bonus of $1,500 is offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Two years on-the-job experience.
• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
• X-Ray certification required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist with dental/medical emergencies, maintain CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply.
