TEKsystems is seeking a Remote Denials Specialist to join a fast-paced revenue cycle team. This 100% remote, full-time role focuses on resolving aged accounts receivable, reducing denials, and improving reimbursement performance across payer types.

The ideal candidate will investigate denials, follow up with payers, submit appeals, and collaborate with leadership to identify trends and process improvements. Strong Excel and HIPAA compliance are required.

Remote Denials Specialist

100% Remote | Full-Time Hours | Revenue Cycle Management

Are you an experienced medical billing professional who enjoys solving complex claim issues and driving results? We are seeking a Denials Specialist to join a high-impact team focused on resolving aged accounts receivable, reducing denials, and improving overall reimbursement performance.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and enjoys investigating claim issues from start to finish. You'll play a critical role in recovering revenue, identifying denial trends, and partnering with leadership to improve revenue cycle outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Investigate and resolve denied and aged insurance claims
• Perform payer follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable balances
• Research root causes of denials and determine corrective actions
• Submit appeals, corrected claims, and supporting documentation
• Utilize payer portals to obtain claim status updates and denial information
• Maintain accurate account notes and documentation
• Identify reimbursement trends and opportunities for process improvement
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve collections and reduce future denials

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of medical billing or denials management experience within a provider setting
• Experience working aged accounts receivable and denied claims
• Ability to interpret denial reasons and independently determine next steps for resolution
• Experience working with commercial and government payers
• Strong understanding of insurance claims, coordination of benefits, deductibles, coding-related denials, and appeals processes
• Experience navigating payer portals and claims management systems
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
