Job summary

Conifer Health is seeking a billing specialist to manage denial analyses, coding accuracy, and appeals across payer contracts. You will coordinate with clinical resources and follow established guidelines to submit appeals and resolve issues.

The role requires hospital billing experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work in a call center environment. A competitive benefits package applies in a Dallas, TX setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
• 3–5 years in hospital billing/collections.
• Knowledge of EOBs, managed care contracts, and contract language.
• Familiar with UB-04, ICD-9, HCPCS/CPT.
• Strong MS Office skills and professional writing.
• Vaccinations per policy may be required.

Responsibilities

• Validate denial reasons and ensure accurate DCM coding, coordinating with CRC when needed.
• Generate appeals based on dispute reasons and payor terms, including online reconsiderations.
• Follow payer guidelines for appeals submission.
• Escalate exhausted appeal efforts for resolution.
• Work payer projects as directed.
• Research contract terms and supporting documentation for IMaCS adjudication issues.
• Code the DCM system and route accounts appropriately; escalate denial or payment variance trends to NIC leadership.
