Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Physician Coding Denials Specialist to join our team for a full-time, benefit-eligible role with potential remote work. The position focuses on reviewing records, applying coding guidelines, and supporting appeals to maximize reimbursement.

The candidate will have 5+ years in coding/denials, 1+ year in denial management, and CCS-P or CPC certification. Collaboration across departments and ongoing process improvements are key elements of this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years coding-related experience (denials, abstracting, Data Quality).
• At least 1 year experience managing and appealing denials.
• 1+ years reading and interpreting commercial payer policies.
• CCS-P or CPC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform appeals or re-billing of claims to resolve coding denials and ensure payment.
• Maintain extensive caseload of coding denials.
• Prioritize cases and monitor aging with minimal leadership direction.
• Act as liaison among department managers, staff, physicians and administration on denials.
