Sunnyside Community Services, Inc. seeks a dedicated Program Coordinator for its Social Adult Day Program, serving older adults with Alzheimer's and dementia.

You will plan, coordinate, and facilitate meaningful, person-centered activities tailored to cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. The role works with the Program Director, staff, volunteers, caregivers, and partners to ensure activities reflect participants' interests and backgrounds; strong organization, creativity,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in recreation, gerontology, social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1–2 years experience with older adults in a social/adult day setting preferred.
• Knowledge of person-centered and dementia-informed engagement approaches.
• Ability to adapt activities for varying cognitive, physical, and functional abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and time-management skills.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain a structured, diverse monthly calendar of activities.
• Prepare materials, supplies, and staffing for activities.
• Adapt activities to participants' cognitive, physical, and cultural needs.
• Evaluate engagement and modify programming as needed.
• Coordinate special events, community outings, and volunteer-supported activities.
• Provide dementia-informed, person-centered engagement.
