Base pay range

$72,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Job Summary

We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager who will work closely with operations and finance to optimize Catalina’s financial performance and supply chain functionality. The successful candidate is preferred to have experience in a similar role and encompass all areas described, preferably in a food manufacturing/processing or related business.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to sustain and improve the existing supply chain.
  • Evaluate sales and operations planning (S&OP) to determine daily and weekly production plans.
  • Perform materials requirement planning (MRP) and procure materials while minimizing inventory and avoiding production downtime or negatively impacting case fill rates (CFR) due to material shorts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory accounting including tracking material movements to production, finished goods production, and inter-warehouse inventory transfers.
  • Ensure material handling activities, processes and procedures are consistent with production, finance, and supply chain objectives.
  • Reconcile inventory balances and identify the root cause of variances.
  • Build, maintain and edit Bills of Materials as necessary.
  • Establish, maintain, and report performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting production, financial performance, and the supply chain.
  • Ensure warehousing activities, processes and procedures are consistent with production, finance, and supply chain objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed inventories of materials and supplies.
  • Maintain the required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
  • Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase the efficiency of the supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes.
  • Identify profitable shipment and transportation alternatives as necessary.
  • Assess the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; make recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, recording, and storage of materials.
  • Negotiate prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
  • Participate as an advisor to leadership and sales related to product development or geographic expansion, providing information and guidance on the availability and cost of materials, transportation, etc.
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Recommend strategic sourcing alternatives.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge of food processing.

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.

  • Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, QuickBooks.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Education beyond high school preferred.
  • At least five years of supply chain experience is required.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and QuickBooks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be physically able to perform material handling when needed.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
