Job summary

Fastener Company is seeking a Demand Planner to oversee customer accounts, manage daily shipments, and review inventory pipelines driven by customer data. You will support growth in collaboration with Sales and Materials Planning by handling orders, reviewing data reports, and coordinating with warehouse contacts.

The role emphasizes customer service, accurate order processing, and forecast accuracy while working with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time inventory and clear communication

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years experience in inventory management, logistics, or operations.
  • Knowledge of supplier processes with VMI, OEM, or Tier 1 companies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer and sales support by responding to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Accurately enter and process orders and related customer information.
  • Process and review customer releases to provide accurate forecasts to the procurement team.
  • Enter and create customer Sales Orders (Packing Lists) within ERP system.
  • Process, review, and update customer Advanced Shipment Notifications (ASN’s) within the EDI system.
  • Communicate shipment information with various warehouses.
  • Handle daily reconciliation of outbound shipments.
  • Review and manage assigned customer open SO and forecast reports.
  • Analyze and review customer data for trend and forecast changes.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, as well as the sales team and other functional areas.

The Demand Planner is responsible for overseeing client accounts, managing daily shipments, and reviewing inventory pipelines driven by customer data. You will support our business growth, along with the Sales and Material Planning department, by handling sales orders, reviewing data reports, and communicating with our warehouse contacts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer and sales support by responding to customer inquiries and requests
  • Accurately enter and process orders and related customer information
  • Process and review customer releases to provide accurate forecasts to the procurement team
  • Enter and create customer Sales Orders (Packing Lists) within ERP system
  • Process, review, and update customer Advanced Shipment Notifications (ASN’s) within the EDI system
  • Communicate shipment information with various warehouses
  • Handle daily reconciliation of outbound shipments
  • Review and manage assigned customer open SO and forecast reports
  • Analyze and review customer data for trend and forecast changes
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, as well as the sales team and other functional areas
  • Actively communicate with the customer on order changes, future orders, and other non-order-related requests
  • Work closely with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure accurate and on-time inventory.
  • Work in a team environment, communicating as required with all personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Field emails and phone calls from C & D customers, process orders into SO’s or direct them to the sales team if needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to use critical thinking skills to help solve problems or generate new ideas
  • Ability to prioritize customer demands and manage multiple requests with attention to detail
  • Excellent level of proficiency in business communication, including strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Some experience with SAGE 100 or other ERP system preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with inventory management, logistics, or operations
  • Knowledge of supplier processes with VMI, OEM, or Tier 1 companies

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.
  • Mobility within an office environment
