Job summary

GMES is seeking an Inventory Planner / Buyer in Coppell, TX to manage inventory with urgency, maintain lean stock for slower-moving items, and support stakeholders with daily tasks and projects. The role focuses on inventory control, supplier relations, and driving profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years in a planning/buyer role, with ERP forecasting experience and strong communication skills to work cross-functionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field.
• 3+ years in a Buyer or Planning role or similar.
• Experience with ERP forecasting/demand planning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Word/PowerPoint also a plus).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor purchasing requirements and manage inventory levels.
• Analyze inventory needs and urgency to fulfill requirements.
• Assist in setting replenishment parameters and influencing stock levels.
• Create advance buys and scheduled deliveries based on demand history.
• Communicate with purchasing team and leadership on sales/vendor developments.
• Create and send purchase orders to vendors.
• Resolve issues in shipping, pricing, or quantity.
• Compile and send POS and consignment reports.
• Act as liaison between internal and external customers to resolve issues.
• Evaluate, clarify, and act on customer forecast information.
