Job summary

AlfaTech in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the firm’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and tight internal controls across general ledger, payroll, AR/AP, fixed assets, and project accounting in Deltek.

This hybrid role reports to the Director of Finance and requires 5+ years in senior accounting, a BA in accounting or finance, and strong supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in senior or supervisory roles (engineering or professional services preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, project accounting, payroll, and general ledger operations.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience (for Accounting Manager level).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Deltek (mandatory).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, payroll, AR/AP, fixed assets, and project accounting.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for leadership.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and robust internal controls.
• Mentor and supervise accounts payable and collections staff.
• Coordinate with auditors, bankers, and tax professionals as needed.
• Support Deltek revenue recognition and billing processes.
