Jobot in Irvine, CA is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant with Deltek experience to support a growing portfolio of architecture and engineering projects. You will partner with project managers and leadership to maintain accurate project financials and ensure timely billing and reporting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of project accounting experience, strong Deltek know-how, and solid Excel skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of accounting experience in project-based services.
Strong Deltek experience for project accounting, billing and reporting.
Solid Excel skills and ability to analyze financial data.

Responsibilities

Manage project accounting across multiple projects with accurate financial reporting.
Use Deltek to maintain project records, budgets, costs, and reports.
Prepare and review client invoices (time-and-materials, fixed-fee, others).
Monitor budgets, labor costs, expenses, billing status, and profitability.
Collaborate with PMs to review WIP, unbilled revenue, AR, and forecasts.
Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals.
Review time entries and expenses for proper project coding and billing.
Track contract terms, changes, amendments, and budget updates.
Assist revenue recognition and ensure policy compliance.
Support collections by coordinating with PMs and clients.
Identify improvements to workflows and Deltek usage.
