Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in project-based services.
• Strong Deltek experience preferred.
• Experience with project-based billing and revenue recognition.
• Proficient in month-end close and financial reporting.
• Excellent Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities across multiple architecture and engineering projects, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Utilize Deltek to maintain project records, monitor budgets, track costs, and generate project-level financial reports.
• Prepare and review client invoices, including time-and-materials, fixed-fee, and other contract-based billing arrangements.
• Monitor project budgets, labor costs, expenses, billing status, and profitability to identify variances and potential issues.
• Partner with project managers to review project financial performance, WIP, unbilled revenue, accounts receivable, and project forecasts.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and project-related reporting.
• Review employee time entries and expense reports to ensure accurate project coding and timely client billing.
• Track contract terms, change orders, project amendments, and budget updates to maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with revenue recognition and ensure project accounting practices align with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Support collections efforts by monitoring outstanding receivables and coordinating with project managers and clients as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve project accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and Deltek system utilization.
