Job summary

The Honickman Companies seeks a Delivery Supervisor for our Salisbury, MD office to ensure reliable delivery of scheduled products, manage drivers, and address customer delivery issues. You will collaborate with Sales, Dispatch, and Warehouse teams to optimize routes and performance.

Qualifications include a business/marketing degree or 7 years in delivery/sales leadership, CDL/DOT, and proficiency in MS Office; you will guide a union delivery team and uphold policies while driving operational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or closely related field.
• 7 years of directly applicable experience as a delivery driver, sales representative and/or sales manager.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• CDL/DOT card and a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Sales and Dispatch to ensure dependable delivery service.
• Maximize delivery efficiencies by meeting daily case targets and daily customer stop targets.
• Schedule personnel and supervise drivers, including check-in/check-out procedures.
• Investigate and resolve driver and customer issues; respond to all driver issues.
• Interact with Warehouse/Dispatch/Sales to resolve issues and communicate policies.
• Maintain daily performance logs and report loading results.
• Inspect vehicles/equipment and document accidents or injuries.
• Recruit, hire, and manage performance for delivery/sales teams in a union environment.

Job description

The Honickman Companies is a leader in the beverage industry with over 66 years in the marketplace. With offices in the Mid-Atlantic Region (MD, VA, NJ and NY), we are seeking a Delivery Supervisor to be part of our Team in our Salisbury, MD office.

POSITION SUMMARY

Ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of all products scheduled for distribution, manage drivers, and handle customer delivery issues.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact with Sales and Dispatch Departments to ensure dependable delivery service.
• Maximize delivery efficiencies by achieving daily case targets and daily customer stop targets.
• Ensure proposed scheduling of personnel.
• Manage driver check-in and check-out procedures.
• Review and investigate previous day’s results as necessary.
• Complete and review daily route surveys.
• Follow up on merchandising performance by drivers.
• Respond to all driver issues.
• Manage driver returns and breakage on trucks.
• Manage/respond to customer issues.
• Interact with Warehouse/Dispatch/Sales Departments relative to issues and resolution.
• Maintain daily performance log, report warehouse loading results.
• Document and investigate all driver accidents, personal injuries reports.
• Ensure all company policies are communicated and followed.
• Inspect company vehicles and equipment regularly.
• Performs other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION

• Equivalent of (1) bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or closely related field and minimum of 2 years of directly applicable experience as a delivery driver, sales representative and/or sales manager; OR (2) 7 years of directly applicable experience as a delivery driver, sales representative and/or sales manager.
• CDL/DOT card.
• Must maintain a valid Driver's License.
• Experience developing comprehensive strategies, business and sales plans, and schedules.
• Three years' experience recruiting, hiring, leading, and managing performance for an outside delivery/sales team.
• Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Previous experience in a union environment.
• This role offers a salary of $65,000 - $72,000 annually. Excellent benefits which include medical, dental and vision. Eligibility in benefit plans begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Six (6) days of sick leave; two (2) weeks of vacation accrued throughout the year; nine (9) Company Paid Holidays and a 401K Plan with employer match.
