We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products. Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards. Responsibilities
  • Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
  • Transport of HAZMAT and non‑hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products.
  • Movements to satisfy outside delivery (customers/vendors), in‑plant movements (spotting), and/or inter‑company branch transfers.
  • Bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials that include loading and offloading using pumps, air, etc.; manage the entire process including transport, proper transfer, delivery, securement, and all applicable paperwork.
  • Packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers in liquid form; palletized material (dry or liquid) and supersacks of product; manage the entire process including transport, transfer, delivery, securement, and all applicable paperwork.
  • Operate a tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle safely and efficiently; comply with all DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific rules and regulations during performance of job functions, including safety, packaging, labeling, marking, loading/unloading, placarding, pre‑inspection, daily logs, and repair reporting.
  • Follow all Brenntag operating procedures and work instructions; adhere to safety policies and procedures while on a customer/vendor site.
  • Have certification to operate pallet jacks (electric or manual); be certified to operate a forklift and accessories if required; operate dock locks, dock levelers, and additional delivery/pickup equipment.
  • Properly care for all assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units; maintain good housekeeping and ensure equipment is in good working order prior to use.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor and/or dispatcher for delivery instructions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or U.S. military experience.
  • Prior experience in chemical delivery is considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
  • Meet all components of driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
  • Hold a Class "A" CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat endorsement as required for the role.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Unable to wear respirator if position requires, must have no facial hair that interferes with respirator.
  • Current TWIC card or proof of application in process if required.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission.
  • Preferred: minimum 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or minimum 3 years commercial truck driving experience.
  • Certification from an accredited commercial driving academy preferred.
Other Job Requirements
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable with general warehouse duties and use of applicable equipment.
  • Detail and customer oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Observe, follow, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Always represent the company professionally.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and execute detailed and simple English instructions; write simple correspondence.
  • Proficient with basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
  • Ability to learn and operate technology‑based devices such as smartphones, tablets, transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara).
  • Willingness to operate power units with advanced camera and safety systems for compliance purposes.
  • Must reside locally to the area (within sixty miles); lodging not provided.
  • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must pass E‑verify check.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Job has no supervisory responsibility.
Physical Requirements
  • Pass a pre‑employment DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
  • Ability to sit and drive for long hours.
  • Ability to step into and out of equipment safely.
  • Ability to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment during loading/delivery tasks.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently push, pull, or move up to 150 pounds.
  • Ability to wear a respirator (if required) and all other personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to load and unload hazardous material.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
