Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products. Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards. Responsibilities
- Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
- Transporting HAZMAT and non‑hazardous materials, both liquid and dry.
- Performing bulk deliveries of liquids and solid materials, including loading/unloading from appropriate trailer configurations, using pumps, air, and other equipment.
- Managing the entire delivery process, including proper transfer, securement, and execution of all applicable paperwork.
- Conducting packaged deliveries of materials in drums, IBCs, or other containers, as well as palletized material and supersacks.
- Operating tractor, trailer, or applicable service vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with DOT, OSHA, and site‑specific rules during job functions.
- Following Brenntag operating procedures, work instructions, and safety policies at customer/vendor sites.
- Using pallet jacks (electric or manual) and, if required, forklifts, dock locks, dock levelers, and other equipment for material delivery or pickup.
- Caring for assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems, and tracking units.
- Maintaining good housekeeping on equipment and ensuring it is in good working order prior to use.
- Communicating with supervisor and/or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or US military experience.
- Prior experience in chemical delivery may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met.
- Must meet all driver qualifications (DQ) for employment.
- Hold a Class “A” CDL with Tanker, Bulk, and/or Hazmat Endorsements as required for the role.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Clear PFT requirements if respirator use is required (no facial hair that interferes with respirator).
- Current TWIC card or proof of application in process (if required by location).
- Ability to drive a manual transmission.
- Preferred: minimum of 1 year liquid bulk hauling experience or 3 years commercial truck driving experience; certification from Accredited Commercial Driving Academy.

- Operate technology‑based devices such as smartphones, tablets, and transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara).
- Operate power units equipped with advanced camera and safety systems for compliance.
- Residency within sixty miles of the work area; no lodging provided.
- Pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, E‑verify check, and DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Other responsibilities as assigned; no supervisory responsibility.
Physical Requirements
- Pass pre‑employment DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
- Sit and drive for long hours.
- Step into and out of equipment safely.
- Stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment while loading/delivery.
- Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently push, pull, or move up to 150 pounds.
- Wear respirator and other personal protective equipment if required.
- Load and unload hazardous material.
- Climb ladder.
