Job summary

Bassett Furniture Industries is seeking a Delivery Scheduler to coordinate all deliveries and customer pickups, communicating with customers to ensure smooth in-home setup. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and delivery drivers daily, handling administrative tasks and maintaining orderly work areas for efficient operations.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and computer skills, with ability to lift up to 25 pounds and operate Bassett systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and schedule deliveries and customer pickups as needed.
• Schedule deliveries using the Logistical Scheduling Screen.
• Maintain acceptable delivery volumes to promote efficiency and profitability.
• Print sales orders for customer pickups.
• May complete delivery and customer pickup tickets at end of day.
• Process paperwork and perform administrative duties for the warehouse manager.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the work area.
• Review the Dispatch Track Web Portal to ensure time frames are met.
• Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Delivery Scheduler

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Schedules all deliveries and customer pick-ups using the Bassett’s operating systems. Communicates with customer in advance of delivery to ensure proper and efficient in-home delivery and set up. Communicates with the Delivery Driver/Helper on a daily basis. Provides administrative support for the warehouse.

Supervision Received

Direct reporting to and supervision from the Warehouse Manager and/or the Assistant Warehouse Manager.

Supervision Given

None.

Essential Functions

• Answering incoming calls and schedule deliveries and customer pick ups, as needed;
• Scheduling deliveries using the Logistical Scheduling Screen;
• Maintain acceptable delivery volumes to promote efficiency and profitability;
• Prints sales orders for customer pick ups;
• May complete delivery and customer pick up tickets at the end of the day;
• Process paperwork and perform additional administrative duties for the warehouse manager;
• Responsible for the ongoing organization and cleanliness of the work area;

Required Education/Experience/Abilities/Skills
