Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a flexible Support Route Driver to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations. Based in Mason City, IA, this role requires driving on various routes, maintaining safety, service, and on-time performance.

You may work overtime, including weekends, with time-and-a-half after 40 hours. Starting wage is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, with potential additional benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a manual transmission or be willing to learn.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned routes based on business needs.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers.
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
• Load the truck in an organized manner to optimize space and prevent damage.
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered.
• Verify contents of pickups on shipping papers.
• Notify management of problems or discrepancies.
• Travel as needed; maintain vehicle cleanliness.
