Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner, adhering to state and federal laws and regulations.
• Treats customers with patience and respect using Geiger Ready‑Mix Customer Service Guidelines. Balances customer needs with safety and company guidelines.
• Visually checks load for correct slump prior to every delivery. Consistently ensures that extra products and water are loaded on truck prior to delivery.
• Strictly follows driver’s route and schedule as dictated by dispatch. Stays in contact with dispatch, plant manager, and plant operator.
• Completes required paperwork correctly and on time, including any events that happened with products and/or services.
• Keeps equipment looking “Geiger Ready”. Takes time to efficiently clean the inside and outside of truck and perform truck inspection daily – required by Department of Transportation (DOT) Guidelines.
• Wears provided uniform at all times and maintains professional appearance.
• Demonstrates flexibility and teamwork with scheduling and work assignments, including repairs and cleanup work around the plant.
• Contributes to an environment of trust and teamwork.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s licence and must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s Licence, Class B with air‑brake endorsement.
• Maintains personal health to the level required to pass the Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
• Maintains driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations.
• Drives a standard transmission vehicle with the ability to reverse truck to discharge point over paved/unpaved terrain.
• Maintains a respectful and professional attitude with customers and other employees in stressful situations.
• Comprehends and converses in the English language.

Physical Demands

• Constant sitting, handling materials and truck parts, and controlling machine with arm/hand and leg/foot.
• Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, stoop, stretch, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing or pulling 20‑50 lbs.
• Vision abilities (with correction) must include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to focus.
• Work extended hours (12+) during peak production demand.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
• Exposure to noise in this work environment is moderate to loud.
• Personal protective items including gloves, hard hats, dust masks, and eye and hearing protection are provided for employees who are responsible for the use of this protective equipment.
