Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, is seeking a Delivery Helper to deliver and unload materials to job sites, check orders, and assist in yard operations. You will report to supervisors, organize loads, and help maintain a safe, efficient yard environment across TX markets.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and experience in delivery or warehouse. Strong math, communication, and safety lifting skills are expected, with tech proficiency for devices and apps.
Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio.
The Delivery Helper delivers materials to job site, reports shortages and claims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. Success in this position could lead to other opportunities within the Driver, Warehouse and Yard functions.
Participate in a positive work environment.
Check orders for accuracy.
Organize and secure load.
Obtain approval on all loads from supervisor for proper count and conditions of load.
Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
Deliver and unload materials to customer‘s satisfaction.
Follow guidelines from supervisor.
Assist in unloading material returned for credit.
Relay messages sent by customers while on job.
Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned.
Assist driver in evaluating delivery site, noting potential hazards, obstacles, physical challenges, etc.; guide driver in maneuvering on and off customer’s property to avoid damage as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Adhere to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience with delivery, material handling and/or warehouse required.
Ability to do basic math, read orders, writes instructions and complete forms.
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).
