Job summary

Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, is seeking a Non-CDL Driver I to safely transport materials to job sites and other locations. This entry‑level role focuses on delivering raw materials and smaller orders; CDL not required but some certifications may be needed by state law.

You'll check orders, secure loads, assist in yard housekeeping, and provide excellent customer service. The position requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years of truck driving experience, with lumber dumping

Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio.

A Brief Overview

The Non-CDL Driver I is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials to various job sites and other locations. This is an entry‑level driving position with a focus on delivering raw materials and smaller orders. This position is not a CDL driver but may require some certification depending on State law.

What you will do

• Operate safely.
• Participate in a positive work environment.
• Check orders for accuracy.
• Organize and secure load.
• Obtain approval on all loads from supervisor for proper count and conditions of load.
• Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
• Deliver and unload materials to customer's satisfaction.
• Follow guidelines from supervisor.
• Complete daily equipment inspection.
• Record all merchandise that is returned by truck.
• Complete necessary paperwork such as delivery tickets and credit slips.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Assist in unloading material returned for credit.
• Relay messages sent by customers while on job.
• Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned.
• May be subject to DOT and FMCSA jurisdictions and restrictions.
• Typically delivers raw materials to customer.

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience driving trucks required.

• Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms.
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
• Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
• Maintain current operator's license and meet company driver qualification requirements.
• Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State required.
