Job summary

Texas Building Supply, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is seeking a Delivery Helper to deliver materials to job sites, check orders for accuracy, and assist in loading and unloading at five building material yards across Texas.

The role emphasizes safe operation, teamwork, and excellent customer service, with opportunities for growth within Driver, Warehouse and Yard functions. High school diploma or GED required and prior material handling experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to do basic math, read orders, writes instructions and complete forms.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
  • Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications).

  • Assist in unloading material returned for credit.
  • Relay messages sent by customers while on job.
  • Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned.
  • Assist driver in evaluating delivery site, noting potential hazards, obstacles, physical challenges, etc.; guide driver in maneuvering on and off customer's property to avoid damage as needed.

Overview

The Delivery Helper delivers materials to job site, reports shortages and claims to supervisor and assists in loading and storing of materials. Success in this position could lead to other opportunities within the Driver, Warehouse and Yard functions.
